CryptoPunks

The project that inspired the modern CryptoArt movement. CryptoPunks are made up of 10,000 unique collectible characters inspired by the London punk scene of the 1970’s.

Larva Labs originally released CryptoPunks for free on June 23, 2017 with individuals only having to pay for transaction gas fees. These 24×24 8-bit-style pixel art images have taken the world by storm with traditional auction house listings on Christie’s and Sotheby’s breaking records such as $11.7 million dollars for the masked alien, Punk #7523. In March 2022, Yuga Labs (Bored Ape Yacht Club) acquired the CryptoPunks + Meebits IP from Larva Labs to give full commercial rights to the community.
